What is Tarot?

Plain and simple, Tarot is a set of 78 cards. They are believed to capture the whole potential of the human experience. The card you pull at any given moment is speaking to the human experience you are having in that moment. That is why there happy cards, life is fine cards and what the hell just happen cards. The cards are divided into 22 major arcana (the big themes of life) and 56 minor arcana (the moment to moment issues) cards. Tarot cards have been around for a long time. They are thought to have originated around 1440 as elaborate playing cards. Tarot cards may have begun as a game but it has evolved into a tool to help with decisions, tap into our intuition, become a part spiritual practice or for personal empowerment. It’s quite versatile.

My Style of Tarot Reading

My focus is on what is going on in the moment. What information do you need in this present moment to help your soul evolve. My style isn’t to predict the future or sugarcoat the hard stuff. Tarot can have in the decision we make which may affect our future but we determine the course of your lives. My tarot foundation is based on Lindsay Mack’s Soul Tarot. Soul Tarot is an intentional utilization of the Tarot as a way to amplify the whisper of the soul’s truth, while turning down the volume on the brain’s chatter. I also blend in my knowledge of herbs, mediation, yoga and western and eastern medicine to offer support for the emotions, challenges and changes the soul may uncover. You leave with not just a tarot reading but a way to care for yourself as you integrate the tarot’s messages.

Tarot and Intuition

Everyone has Intuition. A knowing or a hunch. We all have it. Some of us trust it more than others. I don’t consider myself “special” or “talented” or even “psychic”. I am merely an instrument tapping into universal and ancestor energy and using that energy to give guidance to those who ask for it.

Tarot is not just about the cards. It is also, what you sense those cards mean for the client. The same exact cards can have totally different interpretations for different clinics and intuition helps me to feel out which is right for each client.  Sometimes I also just have “a feeling” which has nothing to do with the cards at all. Just what I am picking up from the client.

Tarot readings also help you, the client, hone your intuition skills. Readings often confirm what you already knew or were suspecting.

Distance vs In-Person Reading

It doesn’t matter if you are sitting directly in front of me or if you are in a high rise apartment in New York City – as long as you come to the tarot table with an open mind, we can work together. I do feel that a quiet environment is best as there are little distractions and I am better able to pick up on things.
